Course Description

The electronic and vibrational properties of materials are fundamental to modern condensed matter physics, providing the starting point for understanding, predicting and designing the properties of nanomaterials and devices, contributing to a variety of applications such as spintronics and thermoelectricity at the nanoscale. The aim of the course is to deepen the concepts, formalism and modeling of vibrational and electronic properties of nanomaterial standards, as well as their connection with modern problems of materials physics.
